NC-controlled erodable C-axes
With an EDM under NC-control and having a HIRSCHMANN C-axis, it is possible to erode automatically electrodes of any shape which are identical and on the same pitch circle, as well as threads, steep-angle gears, hobbing on the exterior of a workpiece, relief cuts etc.
  • Automatic electrode change possible
  • Mounting of very small and large electrodes using all electrode holders of the Fixturing System 5000
  • Mounting of large and very heavy electrodes on the grooved plate, without removal of the C-axis
  • Backlash free drive, permitting electrical discharge machining
  • High indexing accuracy < ± 10"
  • High repetitive accuracy < ± 5"

The pneumatic tool clamper for mounting the electrode holder, is located in the center of the clamping plate. The tool clamper interlocks in case of power or pressure failure. The clamping plate is used for mounting large electrodes in manual mode.

All function components, such as the pretensioned precision bearings, the incremental shaft encoder located on the rotary axis, the non-slip disc clamp, etc. are in an enclosed, sturdy housing. The tool clamper and the clamping plate are mounted insulated from the housing and the function components.

The electrode flushing takes place through the center hole of the C axis.

The integrated C-axis is supplied with or without drive unit, as requested.

If required, the C-axes are also supplied without clamping plate.
